I was assigned this project by Glamor Entertainment to create promo videos for their cruise parties. There are two versions of the promo videos. One is for the family type of clients with a relaxing style of video, while the other one is for party events with a topless waitress included in the video. It was a fun and slightly challenging project because I only had one chance to capture the footage from a party and make two completely different emotions for the two videos using the same set of footage. Also, after being away from using S-log 2 for a while, I went back with my Sony a6300 for this footage and shot it in log. When editing, I clearly noticed it was much more difficult, complicated, inflexible, restricted and time-consuming to work with compared to Z-log 10 bit from my Zcam. It took me longer than it would have with Zcam to finish color correction as there were high inconsistencies among different shots. At the end of the day, working on the project was a cool and fun experience and it, once again, busted the saying "the equipment doesn't matter" as this showed that, no matter how good someone is, they will never be able to create a great work exhibiting their full potential with restricted equipment, because, if that person may already be able to create a fantastic work with their poor tools, imagine what one can do with better tools.

In addition, it project was the first time I got a chance to try out my Letus Helix Jr. on the field. It is definitely not a bad gimbal but, in comparison to other gimbals these days in the market, it is substantially outperformed by its counterparts. However, it is still benefited from its unique form factor regardless.

Shot Format: 4K, 50fps, S-log 2, h.264

Gear I used: Sony a6300, Sigma 30mm f1.4, Letus Helix Jr.
